How To Clean Phone Memory Samsung? [6 Easy Steps!]

How To Clean Phone Memory Samsung?

Our primary device is our smartphone. We can’t wait to take a quick photo, check our work email, calculate something, or jot down notes on our new Samsung. It quickly becomes the first thing we reach for.

However, it doesn’t take long for a new Samsung phone or tablet to become cluttered with photo rolls, redundant apps, unused widgets, cached files, and the troublingly ambiguous “Misc” data. It consumes more internal storage with each passing day and slows down your phone’s performance.

Now, take a few minutes to blow the cobwebs out of your device’s cupboards and reclaim your streamlined, lean gadget.

Your smartphone apps, like your computer, frequently store temporary internet files in your device’s internal memory. This temporary data can accumulate and eventually take up a significant amount of space.

Delete such files on a regular basis to free up space. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge include a Smart Manager that allows you to manage your device’s storage and easily delete unnecessary data with the touch of a button via Clean Master.

You can also use the Clean Master app to manage storage on other phones. To delete unnecessary files on your Galaxy Note 4 and other devices, go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> Cached data and click on it.

Apps vary in size, with high-budget games typically taking up the most. Why have an app installed if you’re no longer using it? App removal is a quick and easy way to free up space.

You can always go back and get them later if you want. Use a smart Android management tool, such as Syncios Mobile Manager (free), to clear out useless apps with app data and game saves, and backup apps to your computer to free up phone storage.

  1. Install the Syncios Samsung Manager on your computer.
  2. Connect your Samsung device to the computer using a USB cable, then enable USB debugging mode before running the Syncios Manager program.
  3. Apps will appear at the top of the list after Syncios successfully detects your device. When you click on Apps, Syncios will display all of your phone’s apps. Choose the apps you want to remove and press the “Uninstall” button; the apps will be quickly removed from your phone.

This handy Samsung Backup & Restore tool also allows you to back up and install Android apps from your computer. Samsung users have the same options for messages, contacts, music, photos, and videos.

One of the best features of Samsung’s Galaxy series devices is that it has a slot for a microSD card, making it easier to keep the Samsung Galaxy’s storage from becoming full.

An SD card can act as a secondary hard drive for your smartphone, allowing you to save photos, videos, and even app data on it rather than the device’s internal storage.

To do so, navigate to Settings > Applications > Application Manager, then select the program to relocate.

If the app can be relocated, a “Move to SD card” button will appear. Touch this button to transfer the app to the microSD card. On some phones, this option can be found by tapping Storage.

Please keep in mind, however, that only a portion of the application will be transferred to the microSD card. The software determines the amount of data transferred, and many major games, sadly, do not transfer a significant portion of their data to the microSD card.

Samsung allows you to expand storage by enlarging SD card storage, but as you know, too much data slows down your device and even causes it to freeze. You don’t have to obliterate all of your most precious memories in such circumstances, but you might want to consider moving them somewhere else.

You can, for example, back up your phone data to a computer to free up space, such as photos, music, videos, messages, and so on.

I’d like to back up Samsung devices using the One-click Samsung Backup Tool because the Android built-in backup tool or USB backs up very limited types of data (see here for a comparison of four common backup methods).

  1. Syncios Samsung Transfer can be downloaded and installed on your computer.
  2. Connect your Samsung device to your computer using a USB cable, then enable USB debugging mode before running the Syncios Data Transfer program.
  3. On the main interface, select Backup mode. After Syncios has successfully detected your device, click “Next” to begin selecting data to transfer to your computer, such as messages, call logs, music, photos, videos, apps, and more. To begin transferring, click “Next.”

You can also use this Samsung Transfer tool to recover data from iTunes backups, iCloud data, and even your computer’s iTunes Library. You can also transfer data from one phone to another with a single click!

It’s very easy to download PDFs and other files while browsing the web that you’ll never need again. It’s worth checking your Downloads folder to see if there’s anything you can get rid of. Long press on a file you don’t need, tap any extra files you want to delete, and then tap the trash can icon in the Downloads app.

Your apps frequently download files automatically and may consume more storage than you’d like. Even if you clean up as we recommend in our other tips, apps like Facebook will remain.

On Android, we recommend tapping the three lines at the top right to access settings, then selecting App Settings and tapping Auto-play, then selecting Never Auto-play Videos.

You could also try Data saver, which reduces image sizes and disables auto-play videos. Examine the settings for your other frequently used apps to see if you can find similar options to reduce the amount of storage they consume.

Apps, like temporary internet files on a computer, store temporary files in the device’s internal memory, which can accumulate and take up a significant amount of space. Follow these steps to delete Apps Cache and Apps Data:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Storage after selecting the desired App.
  3. Tap CLEAR DATA to clear App Data; CLEAR CACHE to clear App Cache.

You might be surprised at how much space you can free up if you use all of these tips. Are any other space-saving tips you’d like to share that have worked for you? Share them in the comments!

As previously stated, the storage screen on your phone will show you how much storage each of your apps is using, as well as the last time you used the app.

Do you believe an app is no longer worth the space it takes up? Simply tap on it to delete or offload it. Offloading deletes the app but keeps the documents and data associated with it, frequently freeing up more than half of the space previously occupied by the app.
