5 REASONS WHY IS THERE NO SOUND COMING FROM SAMSUNG TV?
Before we begin troubleshooting, let’s first determine what went wrong and caused the problem to appear.
1. The sound is muted
If there is no sound coming from your Samsung TV volume, you have most likely muted it or reduced the volume to an unacceptably low level. If your sound settings are incorrect, you may have the same experience.
2. Mechanical Impairment
That isn’t all. Mechanical damage to the youtube TV, such as impact marks, dents, or cracks, can be detrimental. At the same time, bugs can disrupt their normal operation and also cause black screen.
3. Outdated TV Firmware
Bug attacks are made easier by outdated Samsung TV or lg tv firmware. It may result in incompatibility issues in some cases. If you use firmware that Samsung no longer supports, you may experience no sound.
4. Other Connected Devices
In most cases, if you plug in a headphone, your TV will not produce audible sound. The audio will be routed to the equipment by the device. If there is a wire or debris inside the headset port, the same thing can happen.
5. Hardware Problems
Hardware problems, such as faulty HDMI cable ports and cables, can also put you at risk. The same thing can happen if you connect the TV to the incorrect device.
TV NO SOUND – HOW TO FIX IT?
You need to reset your TV if your Samsung TV has no sound. Unplug your TV from the wall and wait 60 seconds. While the unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After a minute, plug your TV back in. This will soft reset the TV and fix the sound!
Unplug Samsung TV From Wall
While this may seem obvious, unplugging your Samsung TV from the wall socket is the most common way to restore sound. The key here is to wait the entire 60 seconds. Be patient and wait at least a minute before plugging it back in.
Find and hold the power button on your Samsung TV for 30 seconds while it is unplugged. Check that you’re holding the power button on your TV, not the remote!
This helps to drain any remaining power in the TV and allows it to soft reset itself. This is not the same as simply turning the remote on and off! When you plug the TV back in, you should be able to hear the sound again.
Samsung tv sound not working
While this solution should work in about 80% of cases, the remaining 20% may be more difficult. If your Samsung TV’s sound is still not working, try the below solutions.
Reseat Power Cord In Back Of Samsung TV
Another relatively simple potential solution is to unplug the power cord from the back of the TV. Unplug it for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
Make sure the connection is snug when you plug it back in! You don’t want this to be loose at all – a tight connection is necessary to ensure that the TV receives consistent power.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the TV using the power button, not the remote! Hopefully, you’ll see the TV come back to life and hear the sound again.
It’s a good idea to disconnect and reconnect ALL connections to your TV while you’re reseating the power cord!
Update Your TV’s Software
A Smart TV requires regular updates to ensure that the system functions properly. As a result, if your TV is outdated on software updates, it can cause a slew of issues. This includes, but is not limited to, no sound.
All you have to do is look for the most recent firmware update for your TV model.
What you must do is as follows:
- Navigate to the Settings menu.
- Choose the Support option.
- Now navigate to Software Update.
- Select the option to Update Software.
Your television will automatically update. This procedure may take a few minutes, but your TV will notify you when it is complete.
Note: If the Software Update option is grayed out, select INPUT/SOURCE on your remote, and make sure your on “TV”. Then go back to Software Update and you should be able to select it now.
Make Sure Samsung Sound Output Is Set To “TV Speaker“
You can, believe it or not, change a setting to turn your TV speakers off. This is useful when using a sound-bar, for example. However, if you do not use a sound bar and your TV speakers are turned off, your Samsung TV will have no sound!
Use the remote to select MENU or HOME to turn on your TV speakers. Go down to SETTINGS, then SOUND. Then select SOUND OUTPUT, followed by TV SPEAKER, and ensure that TV SPEAKER is selected!
Run A Sound Diagnostic Test
If the TV Speaker is properly selected, it’s time to test the sound on your TV. Press the MENU or HOME button on your remote.

Enter your PIN code (“0000”). Your television will turn off and then back on, displaying the initial setup screen. If you’ve forgotten your TV’s PIN, you can easily reset it using your remote.
While the TV is on, press the following buttons on the remote control in the order shown, and your PIN will be reset to “0000.”

With the TV turned on, press the Menu button and navigate to Settings > General > Reset. There are other options if you can’t find these buttons on your TV or if it’s mounted in a confined space.
To begin, consider plugging a USB keyboard directly into the back of your Samsung TV, which you can then use to navigate and reset your TV. If you have a Samsung Smart TV, you can also download the Samsung SmartThings app to your smartphone.

Samsung TV Support
As a last resort, you can contact the Samsung Contact Centre at 1-800-726-7864 (8am-12am EST, 7 days a week) and request assistance.
- Navigate to the Support section of your TV’s menu.
- Choose Remote Management and then read and accept the service agreements. When the PIN screen appears, give the agent the PIN number.
- The agent will then gain access to your television.
Please keep in mind that for Remote Service to work on your TV, you must be connected to a high-speed internet connection. You will not be able to connect if your TV cannot connect to the internet or if your connection is slow.
Samsung TV Warranty
You can also check online to see if your TV is covered under Samsung’s warranty. Unfortunately, Samsung TV warranties typically only last 1 year and most of the cases I’m hearing of TV’s with no sound are on television sets that are several years old. Still worth a shot.
SAMSUNG TV NO SOUND THROUGH HDMI; WHAT TO DO?
Audio Return Channel (ARC), an HDMI feature, is supported by Samsung TVs. It reduces the number of cables needed to get high-quality music. If your TV does not have sound through HDMI, you should do the following:
- Use the HDMI-ARC port on your television if it is available.
- Select external speakers that are compatible.
- To activate the ARC controls, change the settings on the speakers.
- Play the appropriate audio files. PCM, Dolby Digital up to 5.1 channels, and DST Digital surround are all supported by HDMI ARC (up to 5.1 channels).
SAMSUNG TV NO SOUND ON APPS, WHAT TO DO?

- Check to see if you have the sound muted or the TV volume set too low.
- Confirm the presence of sound from sources other than the app. Use the tips above if there is no sound in these sources. If only apps are affected, proceed to the next step.

- Restart your applications.
- Sign out and back in.
