The Ultimate Samsung UE40MU6120K Review
Looking for Samsung UE40MU6120K Review? This year, Samsung has had a really strong line up, with the mighty QLED sets selling like hotcakes and some of that fantastic technology trickling down to their mid-range models, which is always a plus as a customer!
But they aren’t done yet.
Every year, as expected, Samsung releases a mid-range crowdpleaser that is a variant of their previous mid-range series, in this case the 6 series.
The 40MU6120 is a notch above their entry-level model, but with a slightly higher PQI (picture quality index) rating, which is essentially a cosmetic change.
When you compare the 6100 and 6120, you can see that there are subtle differences in color, which is always nice to have a choice, hence the similar prices.

A 4K HDR panel with full Samsung Tizen Smart features is housed within the TV. The Mu6120 has a very competitive panel with Samsung’s signature bright screen – one of the brightest in its class, to be exact – which is very impressive at its price point for customer service.
Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus feature, which tracks moving images and attempts to stabilize them, handles motion, and while this isn’t new technology, it certainly holds its own. The MU6120 may not win any awards as a gaming monitor, but it was more than adequate for me, and I’m very picky about movement on televisions.

With Samsung’s MU6120, you can enjoy a brilliantly vibrant 4K HDR image. The brand’s Certified Ultra HD screen produces an image with stunning true color and clarity.
Auto Depth Enhancer technology immerses you in the visuals, while 4K upscaling and Ultra Clean View features ensure that whatever you’re watching receives the same gleaming 4K treatment. You can also access a world of online entertainment through Samsung’s Smart Hub. The MU6120’s stunning visuals bring a world-class viewing experience into the home.
HDR with Auto Depth Enhancer
Samsung is a pioneer in color-boosting High Dynamic Range technology (HDR). They’ve delivered top-tier HDR as members of the UHD Alliance. This means there are over a billion individual colors to enhance your view and reveal shades you’ve never seen before in home entertainment. Typically, studios are forced to dilute the color of their shows and films in order for them to fit on our televisions.
HDR screens, such as the MU6120, can now deliver content from the studio to the living room with the same precision and utterly otherworldly hues. Furthermore, the screen’s UHD Dimming produces more realistic shadow detail and contrast.
The ability to independently adjust tone, brightness, and sharpness in various areas around the screen results in a stunningly realistic image quality. All of this is enhanced by the brand’s Auto Depth Enhancer, which increases your immersion in the image.
4K UHD with Upscaling
The MU6120’s Certified Ultra HD 4K resolution screen elevates your viewing experience to the next level. Four times the pixel count of 1080p Full HD results in stunning realism, natural motion, and incredible detail. Thanks to 4K upscaling, you can enjoy this high-quality image on anything you watch.
Samsung’s cutting-edge upscaling technology transforms lower-resolution content into a level of detail comparable to UHD. Meanwhile, the Auto Motion Plus processing of the brand ensures that even the fastest action, such as sports or action movies, is always smooth and blur-free.
Ultra Clean View
With Ultra Clean View, you can give your old favorites a new lease on life. This ingenious technology examines the input signal and reduces distortion and visual noise. So, regardless of the content, it will always be a ravishing image of crispness and clarity.
Samsung Smart Hub
The latest Smart Hub platform is now faster, with ultra-high definition streaming, catch-up, and games services. This simple platform is a huge step forward for the connected home. Access the most recent apps to enjoy the best UHD content from Netflix and Amazon*. You can even easily browse content while watching TV, searching for your favorite shows and movies.
The powerful Quad Core processor, which significantly boosts performance with faster access to Smart features, is powering the seamless interaction. Enjoy super-fast response times as you easily use and switch between apps, online services, and live TV.
Samsung TVPlus
In addition to all of your traditional TV channels, your TV guide provides easy access to the most recent movies. Whether you’re looking for the latest Hollywood blockbuster or Ultra HD content, Samsung TV Plus expands your viewing options by providing a plethora of additional Smart channels.
With on-air and catch-up services, you can watch subscription-free content (charges apply for premium on-demand content).
Perfect partners
With televisions becoming thinner and built-in speakers becoming smaller, selecting the right sound system is more important than ever.
Soundbars improve the sound quality of your TV and add that extra audio punch to all of your movies, games, and TV shows. They are less expensive and easier to set up than a full-size speaker system, but they do not sacrifice quality.
CONCLUSION On Samsung UE40MU6120K
It’s exactly what I expected from a basic set. The image is a real crowd pleaser, well suited for all applications, and its 40-inch screen and no-frills design will fit easily and discreetly in almost any space.
However, when it comes to televisions, it all comes down to personal preference, so I highly recommend visiting your local Richer Sounds and giving this TV a spin in person.
