Asus Zenpad 3s 10 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab s3 [2023] (Best Comparison)

The latest tablet release from Asus, the Zenpad 3s 10, has been making waves in the tech world.

The new device is not only powerful but also affordable for most consumers.

With its 9.7-inch screen and an 8MP rear camera (and 5MP front-facing), this tablet may be one of your best options if you are considering purchasing a new laptop or desktop computer to replace it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is another option that can give you similar features at a higher price point; however, with many comparable specs like an 8 MP rear camera (and 5MP front-facing) and 4GB RAM, there are plenty of reasons to consider this device instead!

Design and construction quality

Let us begin with design and construction excellence.

Both tablets have a 9.7-inch display screen and a stylish style to them.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has an aluminum bezel, but the back is made of glass, which is a first for the company.

The fact that it seems and feels high-end does not negate the fact that it is easily fingerprinted.

The ZenPad 3S 10 on the other hand is made entirely of metal, and it has a premium feel to it as a result.

The ZenPad 3S 10’s build quality has improved slightly as a result of the use of a complete metal body.

It is slightly thicker, at 7.15mm, than the previous model.

The Galaxy Tab S3 is somewhat thinner than the Galaxy Tab S2, measuring 6mm.

Examine the displays in further detail now. Both have a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, which is extremely high for a tablet.

Text and symbols appear to be of high quality, making them ideal for watching movies on Netflix or playing games with excellent graphics on a computer.

It’s a matter of personal preference, but the display on the Galaxy Tab S3 is somewhat superior in my opinion.

Samsung has provided us with a really good Super AMOLED panel that has excellent contrast and deep blacks.

The ZenPad 3S 10 features a good-looking LCD panel, but the one from Samsung is a little more appealing.

However, as I have stated, this is a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer AMOLED displays, while others do not.

Performance: Samsung outperforms the competition in terms of it

Underneath their displays, both tablets feature solid hardware, but we’ll see who comes out on top in this competition.

Both Samsung and ASUS are offering 4GB of RAM, which is a substantial amount of memory. Despite this, we’re getting twice as much internal storage on the ZenPad 3S 10 with 64GB of internal storage.

However, the chip performs worse in my benchmark testing.

When compared to the Galaxy Tab S3, which ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 octa-core processor, the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 comes with a MediaTek 8176 hexa core processor.

As you can see in my Geekbench benchmark comparisons, the scores obtained by the tablets are pretty similar.

However, the Galaxy Tab S3 comes up on top in AnTuTu, scoring nearly twice as many points as the iPad Mini.

On both devices, I played a variety of games, including Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8 Airborne, among others.

I didn’t detect any issues or lags with any tablet during my testing.

You can also utilize the Chrome browser with a large number of tabs open without experiencing any issues, as well as edit photos in Lightroom.

However, if you are looking for the highest level of performance imaginable, the Galaxy Tab S3 is the tablet for you.

Sizes

However, when it comes to dimensions, the Galaxy Tab S2 is unquestionably the winner, as it is a device that is extremely difficult to beat in this area: it is true that the ZenPad 3S is comparable in terms of size (24,23 x 16,42 cm against 23,73 x 16,9 cm inch display), and it must be acknowledged that its thickness is also very small (6,8 mm against 5,6 mm), but it is clear that the tablet from Samsung is more compact, thin, and, above all (490 grams against 389 grams).

TouchWiz vs. ZenUI in terms of software

In contrast to the ZenPad 3S 10, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 comes pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 ships with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

I did, however, see an ASUS tablet running Nougat at Computex, and in fact, a number of users have already received the upgrade.

That’s fantastic.

However, because the Galaxy Tab S3 is newer, it is quite probable that it will continue to receive upgrades for a longer period of time app, especially given Samsung’s track record of providing timely updates for its high-end products.

Both manufacturers make significant changes to the user interface.

While Samsung uses TouchWiz, ASUS has developed their own user interface (UI) dubbed ZenUI.

Which one is preferable?

Everyone has their own preferences, therefore it’s difficult to explain what they are.

TouchWiz appears to be a bit more organized at first glance, but you can simply declutter the ZenUI as well.

The apps that come pre-installed are also extremely similar.

To name a few similarities: both feature a note app, both have energy-saving settings, and both have a split-screen option, courtesy to Android Nougat.

It actually depends on your own preference – or you can simply install any launcher of your choice on your computer.

S-Pen and Z-Stylus are two types of styli.

A large number of consumers may be purchasing the Galaxy Tab S3 due to the bundled S-Pen pen touch, which can be used for handwriting and drawing touch.

However, Samsung is not the only company that sells an active pen — in fact, ASUS has its own version of the device, which is called the ASUS Z Stylus. It is not included, and you will need to purchase it individually.

My favorite stylus is the S-Pen, but I haven’t had the opportunity to use the Z Stylus yet, so I can’t make a fair comparison between the two devices at this time.

What’s particularly fascinating is that both companies provide software features that are very comparable to one another; ASUS even offers something that is very similar to the Air Commands.

Nevertheless, when it comes to the technical features, only Samsung comes out on top.

The S-Pen does not require a battery and has four times the number of pressure points as the S-Pen, with 4096 pressure points.

For those who are serious about using a stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is perhaps the best option.

Screen

However, in the screen category, we have an absolute tie: we have already mentioned that the two tablets have similar proportions, which is due to the fact that both have adopted the typical iPad aspect ratio (4:3, optimized for reading), but they are also the same size (9.7 inches) and have the same resolution (480 x 800 pixels) (2048 x 1536).

However, it should be noted that the Samsung tablet, with its AMOLED panels, continues to be the best-looking of all the tablets on the market in terms of image quality.

Cameras

We always stress the importance of being realistic when it comes to the importance that should be given to the cameras on a tablet, but if any of you are certain that you will be using them on a regular basis, you might be interested in knowing that the front camera on the Asus tablet has some advantages over the front camera on the Samsung tablet (5 mp rear camera against 2 mp rear camera).

However, when it comes to the primary camera, they are neck-and-neck at 8 MP.

Autonomy

The most interesting autonomy data, as we all know, is always the one that comes from real-world testing, but for the time being, the only thing we can confirm is that the battery capacity of the Asus tablet is noticeably older (7800 mAh versus 5850 mAh), while the rest of its technical specifications are relatively similar to those of the Samsung tablet.

We had already predicted that the prices of the two tablets would be relatively close, although it must be noted that in both cases, prices can vary significantly between retailers and distributors, and it must be taken into consideration that the new ZenPad 3S 10 may be slightly more expensive than its predecessor.

In any event, it appears to be simple enough that we should be able to obtain either one for roughly 400 euros.

Battery life is measured in hours.

Both have a battery that is very comparable. While the battery on the ZenPad 3S 10 has a capacity of 5900mAh, the battery on the Galaxy Tab S3 has a capacity of 6000mAh.

The battery life of Samsung’s tablet, on the other hand, is significantly longer at 12.5 hours.

The battery life of the ZenPad 3S 10 was 10.5 hours in my testing.

The Super AMOLED display on the S3 is most likely responsible for the device’s longer battery life.

In order to obtain results that are reasonably comparable, I always perform the same battery test, which consists of playing an HD film over and over until the tablet shuts itself down.

Gmail notifications are received on a regular basis and the brightness is always set to half-power.

WiFi is also enabled and there is constantly a notification coming in from Gmail.

However, no social media applications such as Facebook have been installed.

Our Final Thoughts

Okay, as you can see from my comparison, I believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to be the superior tablet in this category.

It boasts an outstanding display, excellent performance, and longer battery life than most other smartphones.

Because of the all-metal construction of the ZenPad 3S 10, the build quality is a little better in my opinion.

However, as I indicated at the outset, the Galaxy Tab S3 is a significant investment.

In fact, if you’re searching for the most tablet you can get for the least amount of money, the ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 is a great choice.

Sure, you’ll have to make some concessions, but they won’t be too many.

You’ll also save approximately 230 bucks as a result of this.
