What is Samsung Social Hub?

The demands of being a social butterfly can be extremely taxing on your physical and mental health.

With so many social media platforms available, it can be difficult to stay on top of everything. Additionally, your phone is constantly inundated with emails and instant messages from services such as Windows Messenger and Google Talk, making the situation even worse.

One option is to toss your phone into the nearest body of water, sell your worldly possessions, and seek refuge in a cave, where you can live off berries and rainwater for the rest of your pitiful existence in solitude.

A less extreme option would be to transform your beloved Samsung Galaxy S2 into a true social networking behemoth, thereby eliminating the drudgery of keeping in touch with friends and family members.

All Galaxy S2 smartphones are pre-installed with Samsung’s useful Social Hub, which is available as a free download.

It can be used as a one-stop-shop for all of your communication needs, but getting it up and running can be a bit of a hassle.

As always, Samsung Techwin is here to help you sort through the complexities and walk you through the process step by step.

What is Samsung Social Hub?

What is Samsung Social Hub?

As part of Android 4, Samsung has included the Social Hub, which allows you to view feeds from popular social networking sites as well as messages from multiple email accounts in one convenient location.

The Feeds and Messages pages of the Social Hub app are separated from one another.

You can get aggregated updates from your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts by visiting the Feeds page on your website.

You can read email messages from any of the email accounts that you have added to the system on the Messages page.

It is covered in this article how to add a social networking account and an email account, how to read and compose updates and messages, as well as how to compose new updates and messages.

Also covered will be the steps involved in deleting one or more accounts from the Social Hub application

How can I Enable my Samsung Social Hub on my Smartphone?

Locate the Samsung Social Hub app on your phone by pressing the Menu button.

It’s usually assigned to one of the home screens, but if you’re having trouble finding it, you can look in the application drawer for help. Upon opening it, you’ll be greeted by a friendly screen that describes all of the wonderful features it has to offer.

With no compelling reason to do otherwise, press the ‘Setup now’ button to get the festivities underway.

How to make your Samsung Galaxy S2 a social network powerhouse: step 1.1

One of the first things you should do is connect your Google account with the Social Hub.

Then select ‘Gmail’ and fill out the rest of the form.

After you’ve completed this step, you’ll be prompted to accept the terms and conditions of the Social Hub.

Then you’ll be asked if you want to have your instant messaging service sign in for you on its own.

Unless you want to be inundated with chat messages from your bored friends, I’d recommend leaving it blank for the time being.

It’s always possible to sign in later after the process is complete.

You have the option of including additional email addresses if you so desire.

Following the successful loading of all of your mail into Social Hub, you can proceed to the next step.

How To Add Email Address to Your Samsung Social Hub

When you open the Social Hub for the first time, you’ll be greeted by a welcome screen that will ask you whether you want to set up Social Hub right away or whether you want to wait and set up the app later.

Tap the Set Up Now button to bring up the Add Account page, as shown in the picture, where you can enter either an email address or a social networking account to get started.

For the purposes of this article, we’ll create a LinkedIn account by selecting LinkedIn from the SNS Account section.

The Samsung Social Hub screen appears, allowing you to review the terms and conditions for using the Social Hub application.

When you have finished reviewing the terms, select the checkbox that says I accept all of the terms above and then click the Agree button.

The first step in the Set up your LinkedIn account procedure informs you of the steps involved in the setup process.

Continue by selecting Next from the menu bar at the top of the screen, which appears on the right side of the screen.

Type your LinkedIn account information into the Email and Password boxes, as shown in Figure 3, to complete the next step.

After you have entered your login email address and password, select Log In from the menu bar.

As soon as you log in, you’ll be able to see all of your LinkedIn updates in the Social Hub feeds section of the page.

Using your finger, swipe up and down the list to view feeds in the list that includes the name of your contact, information from the feed, and the date and time the feed was posted.

Tap a feed to open the Comments window, type a comment, and then post it to the profile of the user who shared the feed with you.

If you want to see all of the private messages that have been sent to your account, go to Messages in the menu bar.

You’ll notice three icons on the right side of the menu bar, arranged from left to right:

  • Refreshing your LinkedIn account scans the server for any new feeds that have been posted to your account. Any new feeds will appear at the top of the list if there are any new ones.
  • To open the Status update window, select the Write icon from the toolbar. If you want to include a photo with your status update, you can do so in the text box provided in the window, and then tap Update in the window’s menu bar to send the update to your connections.
  • To access the Accounts option, select it from the drop-down menu that appears when you tap the Menu icon.
  • After selecting Accounts from the menu, you can create a new account on the Accounts page by selecting the Add Account button at the bottom of the screen shown below. Creating a new account on the Accounts page.

You have the option of selecting one of the accounts listed below in addition to the LinkedIn account you previously added:

A connection to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is required.

If you are unsure whether or not your email account is connected to an Exchange email server, you should consult your network administrator for assistance.

  • It’s your email address.
  • It’s your Facebook profile.
  • This is your Twitter handle.

The Social Hub, on the other hand, allows you to add multiple email accounts, allowing you to read all of your emails from multiple sources within the Social Hub app.

Let’s create a new email account by selecting Email from the Email Account section and entering the desired information.

On the Set Up Email page, enter the account name and password in the appropriate boxes and then press the Next button on the right-hand side of the menu bar to proceed.

The picture below shows the Account Options page that is displayed after the app has checked your settings and determined that they are correct.

You can choose from intervals ranging from Never, which means you’ll have to manually check your email by tapping the Refresh icon within the Messages page, to Once a Day, and everything in between.

In addition, the Galaxy Tab will automatically sync your email and notify you when a new email arrives in the status bar by default.

If you want to automatically download attachments to your email messages when you have an active Wi-Fi connection, select the Automatically download attachments when connected to Wi-Fi checkbox in the Email menu.

To proceed to the final Set Up Email page, select Next from the menu bar.

Here, you can type in a name for the account as well as the name you want to be displayed on outgoing messages.

You can finish by selecting Done from the menu bar when you’re finished adding the information.

In the Email app, you can see the most recent email messages that have arrived in your inbox.

To return to the Social Hub app and view all of the feeds from your social networking sites, select the Task Manager icon in the status bar from the taskbar.

Tap Messages in the menu bar to display a list of all of your inbox messages from all of your email accounts, as shown in the picture.

The email accounts associated with the Social Hub are listed in the Email list, which can be found on the left-hand side of the screen.

It’s important to note that you can search for information within messages by tapping the Search icon in the menu bar and then typing your search term(s) into the Search box that appears.

Another option is to compose an email message by tapping the Write icon and then selecting the email account you want to use from the Compose window.

After you select the email account you want to use from the list, the New Email window appears, allowing you to compose the message just as you would in the Email app.

How Social Hub can Change Your World

From a single app, you can manage your entire world.

Once you’ve connected your email account and entered the information for your important social networking profiles, Social Hub comes to life.

This app allows you to see updates from all of your friends in a single concentrated location, eliminating the need to have multiple social media apps open on different devices.

Furthermore, the Social Hub app displays a count of the number of unread messages on your home screen, allowing you to see instantly if there are any funny dog photos that require your immediate attention.

As a result of the app’s support for Windows Live, Google Talk, and Yahoo, you’ll be able to communicate with distant relatives and impromptu online acquaintances without having to leave your home or office!

You’ll also notice that the Social Hub’s influence extends to other aspects of your Galaxy S2’s functionality, assuming that you checked all of the appropriate boxes when you first set up your account on Facebook.

As soon as you open up the calendar app, you’ll notice that your schedule has become a little more impressive — although it’s important to note that your improved social life is still heavily influenced by Facebook events.

Nonetheless, it ensures that you will never again forget your mother’s birthday.

How to make your Samsung Galaxy S2 a social network powerhouse: step 3.1

It’s the same story in the contact menu — all of your Facebook friends are present and correct, which gives the impression that you’re the most well-known person on the planet.

If all of this seems a little overwhelming, you can disable contacts and calendar sync by going into the account settings menu on your phone.

This concludes our discussion; please proceed to interact with one another!
